Bing announced a partnership with Facebook that will see them including Facebook’s “Like” date in Bing’s Search results.
The new feature will be called Liked Results and will help users to find new information and further personalise the search results offered through Bing.
Facebook explained: “When you search for something on Bing or in web results on Facebook (powered by Bing), you’ll be able to see your friends’ faces next to web pages they’ve liked. So, you can lean on friends to figure out the best websites for your search.”
Facebook Profile Search is also being used by Bing – so if you search for a certain name Bing will use user’s connections to produce more relevant searches.
When will Bing start using Facebook date?
The roll out will start in the next few days in the US and will follow in Europe in the not too distant future. Bing are trying to make it’s existing relationship with Facebook (it provides the web search function on Facebook) to gain more share of the search market which is massively dominated by Google.
