umi Hotels release their first App for Android

BY

Our clients umi Hotels get hip and h-app-ening with the launch of their new app for Android.

The guys at umi aren’t ones to be stuck in the technological dark ages. They are advocates of the latest gadgets and don’t like to be left behind with the current trends. Thanks to us, they have spangley websites, efficient booking systems, blogs and social media to keep their lovely customers up to date with the latest umi news and clued up on their offers, but last month, things just got better.

The umi Hotels smart phone app is a must for all you savvy travellers out there, and they’ve left no stone unturned. The app has loads of useful features, to make browsing on the go easy-peasy. You can read about each of their hotels, locate them on a map and plan your route, or look through the image gallery for some inspiration. They’ve incorporated a live news feed, so you can receive all the blog and social media updates in one place. The app will also feature exclusive offers, so it really is worth your while downloading. The app also makes it easier than ever to review your stay with umi, so what are you waiting for?

The umi Hotels app is free to download on all Android smart phones, and for all those iPhone users out there, fear not, the app will be available on iTunes in the coming months.

2am joins AM1 for Macmillan skydive

BY

Sunday 19th August, not a particularly exciting day for most of us, right? Whilst the majority of people were catching up on life’s thrilling tasks, like cleaning the oven or traipsing round endless isles doing the weekly food shop, 2am CEO Pete was free falling from 14,000 feet. Yes, you read that right.

Whilst this isn’t Pete’s standard Sunday activity, the self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie loves nothing more than throwing himself out of a plane and into the clouds (mad, I know!). So when Anthony Whinn, owner of the trendiest hair salon in the North West, AM1, approached him to take part in a charity skydive, Pete was itching to get back into that flight suit once more!

Anthony rounded up a crack team of daredevil thrill seekers to raise money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause which he holds close to his heart. Trained in the Macmillan Strength in Style Programme, Anthony makes sure that everyone’s needs a catered for at AM1, including those affected by cancer. He recognises that clients affected by cancer have specific hair care needs beyond the usual salon treatments, which is why he goes the extra mile to really get to know the individual so he can recommend the best approach to their hair care needs, whether that be wig fitting and personalisation, or style advice and cutting.

The AM1 & 2am Macmillan Sky Dive Team

Over 300,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. These people suffer the physical effects of the disease, but thousands more people such as friends and relatives, feel, see and deal with the emotional devastation that cancers brings. Having experienced this first hand, Pete dedicated the dive to his Nana, who lost her battle with cancer in 2010.

At 2am we love doing our bit, and helping out a valued client whilst supporting an amazing cause is what we’re all about. The support will continue in early October as we help Anthony make an impression with his Macmillan Charity Evening, hosted at AM1. Keep your peepers on our blog and the AM1 website for event updates (and for Pete’s next quest for adrenaline!).

Ta-ta and good luck Tracy!

BY

Today the 2am gang are saying a temporary goodbye to Tracy as she FINALLY takes her maternity leave.

She’s been getting it from all angles for weeks, with everyone telling her to slow down and take a well deserved baby break, but there’s just no telling some people ey! Our little workaholic has finally decided it’s time to say her goodbyes (though we suspect Pete has had some sway on that!), and we all would like to wish her the very best with the birth of their baby girl. Everyone is poised for cooing and cuddles!

Good luck Tracy!!!
