Our sister company, Thirty 30 Media, were very busy at the weekend, putting on another spectacular event at Ashley Hall, Thornton in accordance with the Staina Ward Conservative Branch. The fundraiser, dubbed Picnic at the Hall’, was in aid of Sam’s Place a charity to help terminally ill children and their families have a much needed respite break.
Taking place on Saturday 13th September, the party was completely sold out, with comedian, restaurateur and all round nice chap Syd Little even joining in the fun with a picnic of his own! The day was such a success that people without tickets were being turned away at the door. Sorry guys!
And who could blame them for wanting to get in? The entertainment was truly second to none, including a barbershop quartet, a magic show and a fire-breathing act that had everyone hiding behind their camping chairs! We’re delighted to say that even more cash was raised in the raffle, which was hosted by top entertainer Joe Longthorne along with Thirty 30 Media’s very own David Jones. But I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I didn’t mention the real stars of the show the adorable Shetland ponies. The crowd just couldn’t keep themselves away.
The event was sponsored by both 2am, who contributed our distinctive brand of design work for the event’s tickets and posters, as well as Cam Scott Leisure, who organised the entertainment and arranged for them to kindly give their time for free.
The feedback from the day had been phenomenal, and a follow up is now being considered for next year. Watch this space!
