Long ago 2am decided to pick one of the open source ecommerce platforms and focus on getting really good at it. We chose chose the market leading ecommerce software: Magento. It’s fair to say that we are by now mighty Magento developers.
eBay recently validated this choice with their recent acquisition of Magento.

Bitcoin is a P2P (peer-tp-peer) digital currency based on user networks.
This currency is based on the principle of the open source/wiki revolution of recent years, meaning there is no central authority rather all actions are taken at a collective level (unlike traditional method of monetary valuation which is based on government or financial authority regulation – known as Fiat Currency).
In an economy that’s becoming far less centralized the relentless drive towards market led decentralisation can be felt everywhere – currency and payments methods are no different. From the advancements made through PayPal to Bitcoin, a full on online not for profit currency for the good of mankind. As commerce becomes increasingly trans-national and as the knowledge economy becomes increasingly dependent on homeworkers it’s likely that this will be developed into a truly global phenomenon.
Think of emails, within a few short years they had changed the way we thought of mail forever, within two decades they have become a real threat to the traditional form of paper mail, mail is now becoming synonymous with email whilst traditional mail forms are taking on derogatory names, most notably snail mail.
Bitcoin looks to change the way we view money in a very similar way to the way we view mail, by combining old and new technologies, Bitcoin put the user for the first time in direct control of the currency they use for the first time since the advent or the barter society way back in the mists of the stone age.

Last year saw the arrival of the iPad, an event which seems to have brought with it a wide range of new places to see browsers, suits and geeks. An activity which was once limited to home, library or work; sitting at the computer. Now we are free to walk, sit, lounge or hang upside-down if we want to, and lets face it someone will. This new more deeply interactive way of using a computer has caused a further need for a rethink from web designers such as 2am. iPads require designs to be made with them specifically in mind. Especially as they seem to have gained enough popularity to be a key part of the world of computers for at least the foreseeable future (the launch of the iPad 2 has cemented their position at the top of the tablet market).

2am are pleased to announce the launch of our most recent website: Sceptre Nursery.
Sceptre Nursery is part of Eric Wright Group, originally established to provide nursery facilities for the contruction company’s staff, the nursery now caters for children of staff and non-staff alike.
The website continues the nursery’s maritime theme throughout, whilst using cutting edge vertical web design techniques to give the visitor an innovative and user-centric browsing experience, thus positioning Secptre firmly head and shoulders above competing nursery websites.

2am media has recently launched a new Russian and English language website by the name of Home Spa Club.
Home Spa Club is a mobile beauty service based in the heart of Moscow, offering services to both Muscovites and foreign visitors alike.
In order to make the website as targeted as possible and to make sure the website interacts efficiently with both Russian and English language search engines, 2 domains have been used, one for the English version and one for the Russian version, whilst the content on both domains is controlled through the same content management system.
By making the two languages very separate we can also be user that the site will target the right target audience without concern that the visitor will find the wrong content.
